Microporous Board for Cement Industry
Microporous boards are specifically engineered for high-temperature industrial applications, offering exceptional thermal efficiency with a conductivity lower than that of still air.
- Thermal Conductivity Lower Than That of Still Air
- Excellent High-Temperature Stability
- Lightweight and Efficient
- Environmentally Friendly and Non-Toxic
- Resistance to Thermal Shock
What is Microporous Board?
A microporous board is a high-performance insulation material with a unique nanoporous structure that limits heat transfer through conduction, convection, and radiation. Made from ultra-fine silica and other specialized additives, these boards achieve thermal conductivity lower than static air, providing 3-6 times the insulation efficiency of conventional materials like calcium silicate and perlite. Their ultra-low thermal conductivity and high-temperature resistance make them a top choice for extreme heat applications across various industries, including cement, steel, and glass. Additionally, microporous boards are lightweight, non-toxic, and eco-friendly, making them a sustainable and effective insulation solution for modern industrial demands.

Key Features of Microporous Boards
Outstanding Thermal Insulation: The advanced nanoporous structure reduces heat transfer, achieving conductivity lower than still air, resulting in 3 to 6 times more efficient insulation than typical materials.
Stability at High Temperatures: Capable of maintaining insulation performance at temperatures up to 1200°C.
Lightweight Efficiency: Provides the same insulation quality as traditional materials with a 50% reduction in weight, ideal for confined spaces.
Eco-Friendly and Safe: Fiber-free, non-toxic, recyclable, and compliant with environmental standards.
Thermal Shock Stability: Built to endure sudden temperature changes, suitable for intense industrial settings.
Molding Method
Microporous boards are molded using machine press molding (primarily for boards):
- Unlike bricks, microporous boards require no drying or sintering.
- After pressing, the boards can be cut to meet various size specifications.
- For glass fiber cloth-covered types, there are two production methods:
a. The powder is placed into a fiberglass bag and then pressed, resulting in cambered edges.
b. After pressing and molding, the boards are wrapped and cut, creating right-angle edges.

What makes microporous board thermal conductivity lower than still air?
Microporous insulation materials use a unique nanoporous structure and synergistic additives to inhibit heat transfer across a broad range of temperatures, whether by conduction, convection, or radiation. This advanced insulation outperforms traditional materials like mineral wool, perlite, insulating bricks, calcium silicate, ceramic fibers, and aerogel felts, often maintaining thermal conductivity levels even lower than static air.
Primary Benefits of Microporous Board:
- Nanoscopic Structure: Small particles reduce heat transfer through minimized surface contact.
- Nanoporous Composition: Ultra-fine pores around 20nm trap gas molecules, reducing internal convection.
- Anti-Infrared Properties: Specialized powders reflect and block infrared radiation, reducing heat transfer effectively in high-heat applications.
Thanks to these features, microporous materials offer reliable and superior thermal insulation, ideal for high-temperature industrial uses.
Multiple Surface Covering Choices
Depending on factors like product type, operating temperature, handling requirements, and environmental conditions, microporous boards are available with various standard covering materials. These include:
– Aluminum Foil Covering
– Aluminum Foil Cloth Covering
– POF (Polyolefin) Film Covering
– Non-woven Fabric Covering
– Fiberglass Cloth Covering
Each covering material is chosen to suit specific application needs, ensuring optimal performance and durability in diverse industrial and operational settings.
